Roots and Calysta are joining forces

Roots Ingredients, based in the Netherlands, has teamed up with Calysta, to distribute its innovative product, Feedkind, in the European petfood market. Roeland Vreeswijk, Roots Ingredients' managing director, explains the collaboration: “Feedkind is a groundbreaking protein that deserves more attention.” He adds, “Feedkind is produced through the fermentation of natural, GMO-free bacteria and meets all requirements for use in pet products.”

Recent published research has demonstrated functions like Postbiotic effects , excellent weight management and improvement of microbiome to support Guth health in dogs and there is a lot more to share, says Roots.

Roots Ingredients is convinced that Feedkind will revolutionise the petfood industry. Thanks to Calysta's fully operational production facility and existing supply chains, Feedkind is now commercially available as a full vegan protein source.

“We are seeing a lot of interest across the industry”, reports Vreeswijk. Feedkind is suitable for dry and wet pet food, as well as snacks.
